The Higher Standard

Many times in life, as we are growing in the Lord, He will ask us to give up some little something we may be putting before Him. Sometimes, it’s a secret – maybe it’s lust, or a crutch– such as cigarettes, tobacco, porn – the stuff that we feel “if we are the only ones doing it, who’s it hurting?” Problem is, that God knows. He wants no body or no thing placed before Him. The more we grow in Him, the closer we get to Him, the greater the rewards BUT, the narrower the path. He holds us to a much higher standard. In thinking on this, I realize that there is no way we can do this in our own strength. We must lean on him to provide that strength and make us stronger. Our Sprit man wants to do what’s right, our fleshy man doesn’t. Pray for God to line up these two in one accord so that He may raise you up to what He has destined you to be. It is not in rushing and striving on the material plane, but on the battlefield of the soul are these things won!! Thank you Jesus!
