I am a bit confused by the message. Did you make the statement that as a believer we should not get to close to God? Was that not the reason Christ died, so that we could approach the Father?

“The closer you get to somebody the less you think of them. Why? Because you see their faults.”

This is heresy plain and simple. If God wanted to stay above his children as you implied w/ Moses then He would not have sent his son.

Lets use good ole logic in the example you used. I am the creator and I want to have relationship with those I have created. I send my son to die for them so that they can have relationship with me. So what I am going to do now is set myself above them and keep my distance from them so that they can not see my faults. Brother (and I use the term loosely), God has no faults.

I’m going to guess that based on your sermon that you have set yourself up as this type of leader. You have set yourself above those that you are in a position to serve and are accountable to no one. Just a guess but I would bet money on it…

Please pray for W.T.,B.S., T.D., R., R.C. , and his family. He needs the favor and blessings of God. They go to court soon, wisdom & favor for the attorneys deliverance, and return to full employment, dismissed. , A. B. housing, M.B., K. Jr. break the cycle of addictions, prayer for Z’s healing of the ulcer, R.B. anointing and favor, sister A. C. provision, and for everyone’s finances and the Blessings of God. For ECC & their Pastor, and the building/struggles. Also H.W., & Brother B.S., T.D,W.T, Court & Mercy of God to prevail in their problems & favor. Prayer for T.W., T, R, S, that Gods favor and blessings would be revealed in their lives, SCR would show Gods favor. J. Young’s, P. & A’s health & housing. Prayer for Naomi R. who just had a stroke, and is not doing well. Also pray for Monica M, who just had surgery & Nicki cps battle & struggle, & 24.Healing for Brother Vincent shingles.

Thank you Pastor Ryan for getting this up so soon!! Please tell me yall will be releasing a cd/dvd?!? (I hope, I hope, I hope ) Thank you Pastor Jerry and the entire REveal Worship Ministries Team for working so hard and delivering such an incredible performance today. Yall are awesome. I have numerous prayer requests. My first one, I hope and pray for my family to find unity and to genuinely accept and love one another. I want to be able to forgive my parents for the past and just move on with life, knowing God is watching, guiding, and loving me wherever I go. I also want to ask for there to be no more unnecessary drama in my life, with people from my past, and those who are younger than me who do not have their priorities straight. I am getting sick and tired of some people’s selfish ways and getting taken advantage of. I just hope everything will get dropped, and people will stop being shady. I no longer want to associate with such people at this time when it is causing me a lot of stress and I am not doing so well spiritually. I want to live in peace. If anything, I just want to avoid trouble and be acquaintances with them to just say “hello” to at this time. I also want protection from negative influences, and from those who will only cause harm and just be a negative influence to me. I would also like to ask for me to be able to find a church where I can call my own. One that I can grow in spiritually, and consist of genuine brothers and sisters I can love, and can love me back. I sometimes think my old church may have been that place, but I saw so many things that I questioned and stumbled me so I’m not too sure about that. I wish I wasn’t so negative there, and dealt with situations more positively, because now it is awkward for me to go there, and I feel like I am labeled as a negative person, but I know I put myself there through my actions, so if people can pray that the situation at my old church can get better too, that would be greatly appreciated. Lastly, I want to ask for general prayer requests. I need a job, or even volunteer experience in the field of law enforcement, so please pray I will be able to find that. I also need to do better and focus on school, so please pray for that and just for me to be able to keep my priorities straight overall, and trust God in whatever circumstance I face. Thank you very much for taking your time to pray for me. I really need it, and greatly appreciate it. May God bless you and your families.

Certainly think you have to take into account that this was Mark’s first debate against someone who’s an experienced debater and a former theist. Also, I certainly understand how difficult it is to arrange these debates as well as agreeing on the format, topic, questions, and so forth which might not seem right.

I actually believe many Christians (during these hard economic times) are going through a “crisis of faith” and being bombarded with questionable scientific and political issues and obviously wouldn’t get the attention, personal support or confidence from atheists or men of science that they would from Christianity or God.

I am a second generation Atheist, living in John’s Creek GA. I attended this event last night along with my partner and 10 year old daughter. I would like to thank Mark Allison for taking the time to participate in this debate. It was very good for my daughter to finally hear a Christian say that an Atheist can be a good person and in some cases are better than some Christians.
